Since its foundation in 1934, Kiryat Bialik has been a center for rich, creative and varied activities. The cultural programmes of Kiryat Bialik are the most splendid in the northern region and have won many certificates of merit year after year. The Department of Culture activates the complete informal educational system in the town:

1. 5 cultural centers for children, youth and adults which include enrichment courses, art, creative work, sport, language classes, music, lectures, seminars, debate evenings and courses enriching people for professional opportunities.

2. 4 senior citizens’ clubs comprising multifaceted activities such as courses, lectures, social games, films, plays and concerts.

3. 4 daycare centers, where the educational day is extended, have been specially established for children of working mothers.

4. Municipal library - where Hebrew, Russian, English, German, Spanish and Romanian books can be borrowed. There is a reference library to serve the pupils and students. A video and DVD lending library is available too. Playrooms for the pre-school children exist on the premises.


Troupes represent the town throughout the country. Year after year they are invited to perform abroad in festivals and important events. The choirs are:
- “The Song of Songs” Choir (immigrants from the Former Soviet Union)
- The Conservatory Choir
- The Bialik Flowers Troupe (Ethiopian immigrants)
- The Georgian Folklore Troupe
- The Conservatory Orchestra
- The “Bialik Youngsters Troupe” - a youth group who sing and dance and whose reputation is both national and international. - The children of the musical shows - 100 children who year after year appear in original musicals which are written especially for them.
- The Beit Katz Choir.

The Department of Culture also organizes large municipal ceremonies and events:
- The Holocaust Memorial Service
- The Memorial Service for the Fallen Soldiers of Israel
- Independence Day celebrations
- Summer events and summer camps
- Sculpture and art Exhibitions
- Concerts
- Festival parades
- Original musical performances are produced.

Kiryat Bialik is blessed with creative artists. The Cultural Department encourages these local artists and arranges “A Shabbat of Art” where the artists open their homes for the public and an atmosphere of an artistic "happening" is created.

Kiryat Bialik “Non-stop culture for all ages” is not simply a slogan.
